Joy sat on her top bunk, struggling to read a picture book in English. But to her, 'The cat caught the mouse' looked like 'eTh cat tugahc hte umsem'.
Frustrated, Joy slammed the picture book shut and took out Twilight in Anceint Greek. She could read fluently in Ancient Greek, and could easily read it aloud in English as a normal person would read English aloud. She was pretty proud of herself.
Joy draped her neck across the edge of her bunk and held the huge book above her. Her eyes scanned the pages, showing clear emotions of what she was reading.
Smiling, Joy propped Twilight upside-down on a stack of books on her bed. Then she put her legs on the wall and the rest of her body on the bunk and read the pages.
Then she fell off the edge. She did a mid-air flip and landed face-first in the pile of cusions she threw off her bed at night. Joy lifted her face up from the pillows with an unhappy expression on her face. She shook her head to get the loose blonde curls out of her eyes.
Then she lifted her fists in the air, with a huge smile of her face. "OH YEAH! THAT WAS SO COOL! I'M NOT DEAD!" She yelled, her eyes gleaming.

Alister looked over as his younger sister fell off of her bed on her face. At first he was a tad bit worried, but when she got back up and shouted "I'm not Dead!" and "That was so cool!" Alister decided he had to laugh.
Walking over to Joy, Alister helped her stand up. "Joy, how is it that you make me laugh all the time? You little girls are so rambunctious. Sometimes I think your not like our father at all - You have so much energy it's as if you don't like to sleep at all."
Alister walked back over to his luxorious bed and plopped down on it, facing towards Joy, his head propped up by his hands. "So Joy, how do you like camp so far? I know we've been here for three years and all, but still, what's up?" Alister liked to know what went on in his sister's life. After all, they were demi-gods, and they weren't exactly on good terms with certain gods...And the Ares children. They all blamed their father Hypnos, and then Alister, Joy, and Zia as well.
Gazing at Joy's bed, he realized how much time Alister and his two sisters spent in their cabin, then again, it was arguably the most comfortable cabin. The Hypnos cabin was decorated with dream catchers on the cealing, every imaginable pillow, matress and sheet. Their beds fit their needs and their wants - A blessing from Hypnos himself. Whatever type of bed they wanted, they could have, the old one would simply disappear.

"I'm not a little girl anymore, Alister. I'm twelve. And you're talking like Mom again." Joy teased. But bringing up her mother made her heart hurt.
She climbed back up on her bunk."The Ares kids are laughing at me again. And I miss Mom." She had been almost nine when they were taken, so of coarse she missed her mother. "But I don't want to go back to school. People will tease me even more and you and Zia won't be there." Joy looked down at her feet.
"Oh, I've always wanted to try this!" She snapped her fingers and her bunk dissapeared. In it's place, she was sitting on a soft feather mattress that was suspended in mid-air by ropes. A rope ladder hung from the bottom so she could get down.
"The only down-side to this is when I wake up really hyper in the morning and almost give myself a concussion by banging my head of the ceiling!" Joy swung her legs. Boy, did she like chatting. Then she saw Twilight on the floor.
Joy gasped. Twilight could not be on the floor! It was too awesome for that! She jumped down, not bothering to go down the rope ladder and grabbed Twilight, then climbed back up to her mattress and hugged the huge book.

Like mom. Was Alister really like their mother? Alister liked that comment, so that wouldn't insult or change Alister's attitude a bit. The three siblings hadn't seen their mother in three years. They stayed at Camp Half Blood over the school year and had fun with their friends in the summer. Alister missed school, personally. He may be dislexic, but he still enjoyed reading, writing, and arithmitic. Even if it was hard for him in English, he was determined to learn it.
When Alister heard that the Ares children were picking on Joy again, he wasn't surprised. He'd show them real force. They didn't make fun of his little sister and get away with it. Alister may not be the toughest guy in the world, but he sure had spirit. If he had to, Alister would fight them in the arena, and use his abilities to make them slower in movements, and more lazy and tired. They would tire fast, and have the urge to quit and sleep. Alister didn't care if some called it cheating, it wasn't. Practically everyone used their special abilities to aid them in a fight. It was common sense.
A large soft feather matress appeared above Alister, supported by ropes, with a rope dangling down from it. On top of the bed was Joy, happy as could be. She seemed quite excited to try out their father's blessing. Then again, who wouldn't? You could sleep in luxary.
"Joy, would you like me to show those Ares kids a thing or two?" Both Alister and Joy knew that Alister wouldn't ulitmately beat up an Ares child, heck, in a fair fight, Alister wouldn't stand a chance.
"Joy, I think you read too much! Heck, I like being alone too, but I'm trying to talk to you! Here, how about you and I have a little training session? You use your natural abilities against me, and I'll use mine against you. Ready? Go." Alister approached Joy with a memory pillow in hand.

Joy placed her head boredly on the edge of the bed, her hair pretty much everywhere. She wore one of Zia's old white t-shirts and shorts (All hand-me downs from when they first came- all dramatically out of style. But Joy could care less about style.)
Joy shrugged. "I guess. I would but, I'm, like, not good at fighting. Actually, I suck!"
Then she climbed down and grabbed the biggest and firmest pillow and folded it for more force. Joy slammed her pillow into Alister's side, giggling.
She hopped out of the way in case Alister tried to hit her, her misty silver eyes sparkling. Even though she was still only twelve, she was unusually quick and nimble. She skirted around the room in a blur of dark blonde and white.
Joy's smile was wide. Her name really fit her. She liked being sarcastic and teasing her brother (which was pretty ironic). She was a little weird but overall was a fun person to have around.
