If her husband caught her in here, she was sure to be suspended in the sky again. She was sure to start weeping, begging for someone to let her down. But, Hera, the Supreme Goddess, the Goddess of Marriage, and the Goddess of Childbirth, just didn’t care. She had been coming in here, into this room, for days now. At first, she had waltzed into this room because, despite being around for as long as she had been, she had never really paid much attention to the room, and that day seemed as good as any. Her eyes quickly fell on a man who wasn’t really worth paying attention to. He wasn’t the spawn of any of the other Gods, yet he had that aura around him. She had stayed watching him throughout his entire day.
He woke up on his bed, and got dressed as quickly as he could, looking around for anyone. When he didn’t see anyone, a disbelieving look appeared on his face. The pictures on the dresser behind him, as well as the ring on his finger, showed that he was a married man, but there was no sign of his wife anyway. With the saddened look still on his face, he picked up his briefcase and walked away. He got in no car, which completely confused the Goddess, but, rather, took the bus to his destination. It left him at a upbeat place. He looked around, here, too before continuing to walk up some stairs and into an building. On the sign outside the building, it said, “Harper and Avery’s Counseling Services.” So, the man worked for an office.
She was so engrossed in the story of this man, that she neglected to realizing she was neglecting her duties as a Goddess. All the Marriage’s that day had gone wrong, and all the births were not without complications. Still, the man was much more interesting. He was a marriage counselor. He saw around six couples that day, each for an hour and a half, before retiring back to his home. He didn’t get to his house until around seven. And, at that time, she didn’t fail to notice the somewhat relieved look on his face to see a cherry red corvette parked, horribly, in the driveway with the door still opened. He quickly shut it before running into his house. There, he looked all over the house until he found his wife, a pretty brunette, with a beer in one hand, a margarita in the other, and her head practically in the toilet. He helped her to their bed where he proceeded to tuck her in and kiss her on the forehead. Afterward, he simply walked to the kitchen, got two plates out, and prepared to make their dinner.
That had been a week ago. She had switched to watching what the wife did for a day, but she was so disgusted, she didn’t get through the first three hours. The man was obviously a loyal husband, and he was helping other marriages while his was falling apart. Her heart was immediately swayed, and she had come in here everyday since, watching the man. She made sure her duties weren’t failing, that way Zeus wouldn’t get suspicious, and she left every time someone else was in the room. The room had been preoccupied the last two days, but it was empty today, or so she thought. She was just in the middle of watching the man, who’s name was Alfredo Ramirez, that she didn’t notice someone else in the room until someone placed a hand on her shoulder.
