How Chelsea hated doing this. in all the years of her life the most annoying thing she ever had to do was make her own weapons. It was hot in the forge, the work strained her muscles and singed her hands, not to mention she was never able to make a good weapon the first time. It always took her three or four shots to make a good strong sword.
Of course there were those people that asked her why didn't she just ask someone more talented to do it for her?
Because she didn't want to, that's why. Childish as it may be she wanted to do this for herself, if she couldn't make the weapon, then she wasn't meant to wield it, and there was no weapon that a child of Ares couldn't handle. Plus she found that one understood the balance and flow of a sword or spear much better if they made it themselves.
Then again if she'd understood her sword better then maybe she wouldn't have broken it. And if she hadn't broken it, then she wouldn't be here in the first place.
All of her thinking just distracted her from the hot metal and heavy hammer in her hands and as she brought the tool down over the slowly forming weapon, sparks flew a little too high and caught the soft skin of her neck. Yelping, Chelsea jumped before angrily thrusting the objects away to join her already failed attempts. Cursing darkly under her breath, she just rubbed the throbbing skin where the spark had landed.
