Rai sat down, a drawing pad and a notebook in his hand. All morning he had been contemplating writing his parents, who were probably worried sick about him, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Rai was not there real son, so not like it would matter if he didn't write them, plus the water was a bit to distracting for him. He had always been drawn here when he needed to think, but he just really wanted friends. Rai's blonde hair waved in the slight breeze that came of the ocean. 'Father....once I was told if you really love someone you never let them leave your heart, but what if the only reason you are confused is because your attachement.' He laughed at that thought, as he always did when he thought of his home, because it made him want to go back even more.
"You know I guess this is just the way things are..." He looked down at the paper, picking up his pen again, to write to his home, even if he knew they wouldn't want him to, or maybe they would but he was so unsure which was barely believable for who he decided to be. He put the pen on the paper, trying to ignore the scratching of the pen on the paper as he wrote.
Hi mom and Dad Sorry I left on such short notice, I just...couldn't be there...and well If I could explain it...and actually knew you would listen to me..I would tell you...but for a short time I won't be coming back home.. I m sorry mom and...Dad...Tell everyone I said hi...and I will be sending letters from time to time. Oh yea be careful...I dont' want you hurt...this is just me, I'll be fine...please just make sure you all take care of yourself I don't want anything to happen and I really don't want to lose you... From your adoptive son Rai Danith
Rai looked down at the letter, throwing the notepad across the sand crying out in anger and frustration. If he actually sent them that letter they would find him, and take him home again, and then he would just put them in danger even more. He just wanted them to know he was okay, but he couldn't because they would just take him home again. "what am I supposed to do? I don't want to leave yet but If I send this I have to...I'm not normal..." He looked out over the water wondering why his father wouldn't help him out here, when he really needed it, that wasn't how a father was supposed to be. Memories of being at home with his parents just reminded him of that, even though for the past week he had been thinking about who his real parents were, and why they would give him up.
He was so confused and conflicted, and he barely had any friends, so he didn't really know if he would even begin to like it here after a while, but he might as well give it a try. He looked at the notebook that was laying facedown in the sand the pen sitting next to it, the ink had stained the sand a little bit, but there was a slight red with it, and when Rai looked down he had realized that he had cut his hand open when he had thrown the notebook and the pen. He had a bandana around his arm, that he pulled off wrapping it around the cut until he could take care of it later. 'This always happens, I always get hurt, and I'm not normal, but no one will tell me why this happened, or even how, and how come my parents never told me...'He growled and turned away from the notebook looking out over the water, feeling the ice cold water lapping at his ankles. The water always gave him a new amount of strength and they seemed to clear his mind which was what was happpening now, but he knew when he stepped out of the water all his problems would come rushing back into his head, and there was nothing he could do to escape from it.

Ringo looked out across the beach. Her long brown curls flew into her face. With a frustrated mutter, she pushed her hair back. The keychain with her Sharpies on it jingled. Ringo smiled and unfastened the red one.
She doodled a orchid flower on the back of her hand, like she always did. One the flower was finished, Ringo again stared at the water. She raised her hands and angled the light so it made a little rainbow from the sea spray.
That was when she heard Rai's cry of frustration. She looked up, her blueish-gray eyes sparkling with curiosity. A boy was sitting by the shore, a notebook thrown onto the ground. Ringo wondered if he'd messed up a drawing, like she usually did. She looked at her own small sketch-pad she kept in her pocket. She flipped it open and quickly sketched a line drawing of the scenery.
Then she took a shy step foreward. Ringo was being just the opposite of how she usually was, she was acting more like Sakura than herself. Then she summed up her courage and walked over to Rai. "Hi. Are you alright? I heard you yell..."

Rai turned quickly when he heard a girl's voice. He hadn't know that anyone was here, so it took him a moment to adjust and actually speak. And when he did speak it came over slightly shaky at first. "Uh yea...I..I'm fine..." He mentally kicked himself in the butt, he wasn't supposed to let anyone see that side of him, it was the side he wanted to keep to himself and not let anyone else see. He smiled slightly and bit his lip, trying to think about something else. He looked at the notebook, growling. He couldn't keep the frustrations back, he really wanted to do it, but he knew what would become of it..if he did tell them. "So do you...come out here often..." he sighed and did his best to make up a conversation, because he wanted to be distracted from his problems.
He was so nervous about so many things, and the tension that was the air, he just hoped she wouldn't pick up that, it wasn't that he didn't need help, but he just wasn't going to burden someone else with his problems, since his problems weren't that important, he would be a good kid, and no longer burden away because of what happened last time. "sorry if I'm not talking, i'm slightly nervous..." He wasn't one for admitting that, but with her, he felt comfortable to say things he had never wanted to say before.'Father please don't let me mess this up...I finally found someone I can talk to...' He laughed again, biting his lip as he looked at this girl who was front of him, she was a person he really felt like he needed to be talking to...He was trying not to laugh anymore because he didn't want to make a complete fool of himself.

Ringo blinked. Apparently he was lying to her. "On sunny days, I come out here to draw and see the rainbows..." She twisted a lock of her hair with one finger.
She was wearing a Paramore (Awesome band!) concert tee and a pair of shorts. She fiddled with her Sharpie keychain.
"So, what's your name? Mine's Ringo." A smile appeared on her face. Her eyes brightened a bit at the sight of a rainbow in the distance.
Her hand automatically reached out, and the rainbow turned into a double rainbow. She counted the colors of the rainbow in her head. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Roy G. Biv. I wonder who made that up... Ringo's mind started going else where, and she shook her head and looked back at Rai.
It wasn't that she was antisocial or shy, it was just her brightness repelled most people. Sometimes being positive just...annoyed people.

"Really? Rainbows are really pretty, the rain that makes them...." Rai smiled looking at her, wondering what she was drawing but then he looked and noticed the rainbow. He loved coming out when it wasx just a light drizzle and sitting and waiting for the rainbow, but that was also because he liked the rain. 'Oh...' He smiled at her wondering what was going on, and he felt like she was a bit afraid about things. "My name is Rai..." He felt drawn to the fact that she could be so positive, he was always the one who looked at the in between, he was never really positive or negative he just did what his heart told him, even though sometimes it would be wise not to listen to that.
He wanted to tell her what was on his mind, but he had learned in the past that you don't just come right out and tell someone you barely know all your problems, so he decided to get to know her better, but that was only if she would really let him get to know her, because she seemed like she was a bit worried about what he was going to think. He wanted to be a positive person like her, but that wasn't easy in his case, so he would just try to get to know her and go from there. "So how long have you been at this camp?" He had only been here for about a month, so he wasn't used this camp and he hardly ever saw his other cabin members so he was barely sure that he even had any cabin mates, or half brothers as they were to be called. 'I wonder what god or goddess she is the child of?' He asked himself but barely thought about bringing it up. His mind was back to the letter that was laying on the ground as he kicked sand, the sand spraying over the notebook covering up the writing on the page. He didn't know about anything anymore, and his mind kept going back to that letter that he was writing.

"Me? I've been here a couple years. You're new aren't you?" Ringo turned her blueish gaze onto Rai. He had a unique name. Kind of like hers. Except, hers was a foreign name. Ringo was Japanese for apple. "So why'd you throw the notebook? Did you mess up on a drawing?" Ringo motioned toward the pad in the sand.
She considered he being a Poseidon child, since they were pretty much the only kids who came to the beach just to be near water. She appreciated his respect for rainbows, the work of her mother. "My mother's Iris. That's why I like watching rainbows." Ringo sighed. "Sakura would love that double rainbow..." She murmured quietly.
Sakura rarely left the main part of camp, she was so shy and scared of the outside world. Ringo didn't blame her. Sakura was a peaceful child, who liked being calm and cool. Ringo was more adventurous.
Ringo looked Rai over. She wondered where hs freinds were.

"Uh yea...you could say that...I've only been here a month..." He was happy about this meeting, and how she seemed to be a positive person, who wasn't going to shove him away or hurt him just because she wanted to. He heard her ask about the notebook, and for a split second he didn't know what to say. "Well you could say that, but it wasn't a drawing...I'm just having second thoughts about writing my parents..." He hadn't wanted to let that slip but it was to late to cover it up and he knew so he might as well just let it go, but the look of worry on his face said different. He was so unsure of what he had just done.
"Um...Sorry... a lot of things have happened...." He sighed and looked down at his feet shuddering. He didn't want to make things worse, but he knew he had to tell someone because he couldn't keep it in anymore. If he kept keeping it locked away he would just cause himself quite a lot of problems. He wanted to tell more, but the lock he had put over those memories was not one he wanted to break and plus his parents were good people but if they found out about this they would take him away from the one place he was safe. They didn't know what he was and he didn't know how to tell them becuase he didn't want them to hate him for what he was. 'I just don't want...' He stopped turned and looked, he was thinking about it, but then... "want to be hated..."he finished what he was thinking outloud without meaning to. He was still unaware that he had said that.

Ringo sighed. She felt sorry for Rai. He had a much more complicated life than her. She grew up in a simple way, living a boring life on a farm with her humble yet lovable father and Sakura. Then they'd lost the farm. Ringo and Sakura had been taken out of their father's custody.
Then they had ran away to Camp-Half-Blood. Evryone at home probably thought they were dead. But Ringo imagined her dear father, staring at pictures of them and their mother. Sitting alone in a homeless shelter.
Ringo brightened her eyes and managed a smile. She sat down next to Rai and looked intently at him.
"-want to be hated...."
Ringo blinked. "You're not hated." She said gently, " Why would anyone hate you? It's not like you're a jerk or something. I bet your parents are really worried about you."

Rai shivered hardly able to believe that he had let that come out of his mouth, and that he wasn't freaking out about saying it. He did want people to know but in this way, this wasn't the way he wanted anyone to figure out anything about him. "I'm sorry I just...was thinking and kinda said it instead of thought it...A lot of people hate me and I just don't want anyone else to hate me anymore..." He wanted to break down and cry, but he had to be stronger that was just the way Rai was, he couldn't break down, he had to be what no one else in his family could. "So what is your family like? I mean do you even have a family?" She seemed happy but you never know what was going on in her head. Girls seemed so wierd, but he could barely believe he was actually talking to one.
He moved closer to her smiling slightly, even though he felt like breaking down and spilling all that was built up in his heart. He knew that if he grew to trust her eventually he would completely warm up to her if only he really kept talking to her and if she actually helped him trust her. 'She is so nice...at least I know that I can trust her, no matter how wierd or hard this happens to seem to anyone, even to me...' He sighed, the sigh sounded more like happiness but that was just the way things were and there wasn't much he could do about it, even if he wanted to take care of her. "um if I asked you to listen to what I say...even for just five minutes..." he stopped having second thoughts about what he was saying to her, he had never really opened up to someone like this before because he knew that they would probably just end up hurting him in the end anyway, but to be a different person he had to open up, and be the one to start what could end his life.

Ringo bit her lip. She didn't like seeing people sad.
"Well...I don't hate you." Ringo pressed her palms to the soft sand. "I've learned that some people just hate the world, Rai. They hate the world and everyone in it. So don't give them the satisfaction of getting to you. Haters are like bugs. You kill them, they don't come back. But, if they do, you know exactly how to deal with them."
Ringo learned this peice of advice from her father, when on her first day of middle school she'd been called a nobody. From then on she'd just lived to live, not to become popular or to keep away from unpopulars. She didn't care what everybody thought, she was herself and proud of it.
"Yeah, I have a younger sister named Sakura. She's nine and really sweet. She lives here."
She looked at the waves frothing at the shore. a bit of water reached them. Ringo leaned back, and laughed softly.
"I would listen."

Rai nodded as he listened. He was intent on listening to what she had to say because she was the first person who would have listened to his feelings. Well they weren't just his feelings, but they were all the other things that would come of what he was feeling and what was going on through his head, and in his heart. He was turning into a conflicted mess that was going to turn him into the many things he never wanted to be, but he knew he had to do this because this was where his heart was. "Really you have a younger sister? Could I met her sometime?" He was nervous about asking this because he was so scared, and so very unsure of what anyone would think of him.
'I have to get stronger..I can't break down...and let them cause me to be weak like she said...'He had surprised her and he barely knew what he was up against, or what he started to do."What am I really?" He muttered, part of him barely felt like he was human or whether he really mattered to himself or anyone around him. She acted like he mattered so maybe he actually did matter, or maybe she was just using him like all the other people were. To her he meant something, but to all the others he meant nothing and he was going to continue to mean nothing, but she had a point. If he kept letting them get to him, he would just give them what they wanted. "You are right...I shouldn't let them get what they want from me...It's just..." he didn't know how to say what he wanted to, so he wanted to see if she could help out with talking about it, or maybe if he would be able to deal with all the things he wanted to do, and needed to do.

"Sure! She dosen't say much though." Ringo smiled and looked out at the sea. She uncapped a thin black Sharpie and flipped open the little sketch pad she kept in her pocket. She began randomly drawing a fat little robin.
It was just a line drawing before Ringo looked back up at him, "Just what? I won't embarass you." She prompted. Her hand was still scribbling the fat cute face of the bird. She gave it huge eyes.
Drawing was Ringo's pasttime. It kept her calm, especially when she drew calm things, like rivers. And it also cheered her up, like when she sketched kittens playing with yarn. And at this moment it was for him. To cheer him up with the funny little robin.
Ringo used to draw funny pictures for Sakura when she had nigtmares. For example, she would draw a secret agent groundhog or a dancing cat. Sakura would laugh until she fell back asleep. But that was when Sakura was about six. She didn't need those dancing cats anymore.

"Why...is she shy?" He wondered what Sakura was like and why she barely talked much, but then again when he had first come here, he barely talked either. He watched the sharpie as he thought about the notebook on the ground again, but he turned and ignored it. '...hopefully this one ends well... ' He was very good, and he was getting better at having conversations, and he really wanted to meet the sister of Ringo, and he always wondered if she was slightly like Ringo, or if she was a total different person. "Well um we are always treated differently by so many of the campers, just cause of the big three and all that nonsense..." He always got tired of it, but he knew that Dustin the other poseidon boy loved it, but in that moment he wondered if they actually really did. "I just don't know why we can't just get along...we are just teens...we can at least try..." He was always the one who wanted things to be good, but he wasn't about to rush it, or what not, because he could only change so much.
He shuddered as a breeze blew off the ocean, usually he wouldn't flinch but he was so cold for some reason, he had been feeling that way for the past few days, and he wasn't sure why, but he was just going to ignore it like he did everything else. "so I see you like to draw....what exactly do you draw?" He laughed and wondered if they had so many things in common, but he wanted to get to know her better.

"Not necessarily shy, she's just more of a listener than a speaker." Ringo explained. She looked up at the sky and felt a little drop of rain on her arm. Then she rolled her eyes.
"Typical stereotypes. Everybody thinks since you're powerful you're going to be some stuck up jerk." Ringo sighed, "Just like a lot of people think we minor god kids are going to be resentful towards everybody else." she murmured.
Ringo wished they'd quit with the Big Three and the minor gods. Why couldn't they all be equal? It made no sense.
"I draw a lot of things, from sceneries to people. But my strong point would have to be animals. They're just so easy to observe." She said, looking at the robin she'd just finished.
A couple more raindrops dripped onto the ground. Ringo smiled. "Maybe there will be a rainbow."

"Really she doesn't talk much, well I wonder if we could change that...." He laughed to himself, shaking his head, trying to get rid of the slight pain he felt, he knew this happened off and on, but this headache would fade. He picked up his drawing pad, flipping through the drawings of people and the scenery he had seen. Compared to hers, his drawings were not as good. "You are so much better then me when it comes to drawing..." he wanted to be as good as her, because he could barely manage to actually draw or even create anything that was any good to him.
The water droplets ran down Rai's face molding with the slight tears that were pricking the back of his eyes. He wanted to wipe them away but they weren't even falling and the rain seemed to get a little bit harder, but then it lightened again. " I like the rain but the rainbows are the best part of all of it..." He ran his hand through his hair, feeling the slight tangles that were in his slightly wet hair. "Should we stay out here for a bit longer? I don't want to go back to the camp yet..." He liked the rain but he didn't want to be the one who took over and took it all from her. "So what do you want to do?"
