Poseidon looked around lazily at his surroundings. He was in the Twins Cities of Minnesota. He didn't know why - Like many other immortals - he enjoyed coming to this city. Beautiful women? The Amazing amount of mortals that could see through the mist? Or was it simply their 'Mall Of America'? Poseidon had been there often enough. It was steaming with mortals. Little three year olds, to the elderly. Ahh...How Posedion wished he knew how it felt to grow old and die. Of course, he could have any appearance he pleased.....But somehow, that just wasn't the same.
Getting up off the park bench he was on, Posedion walked until he arrived at the Waterpark of America. It was the largest indoor waterpark in America. Poseidon enjoyed the water, but he also enjoyed laughter. So, this was the perfect place for him.
Posedion walked into the changing rooms completely dressed, but walked out in his bathing suit. This would help him become more discreet. You had to look the part to act it. And no cashmire suit was going to help him do that.
Looking around the water park, Posedion's eyes fell on who appeared to a mortal, but was not. No, this person was an immortal. However, if they were a god or goddes, Posedion couldn't tell. Their disguise was too well played out. Perhaps Hecate using her illusions?
Striding over to meet the immortal, Poseidon said "Why hello fellow immortal. How're you this afternoon?" But when the face turned to greet him, Posedion could no longer be sure if this was an immortal or not.

Hera had been having a perfectly good day. She had, successfully without Zeus knowing it, tortured one of her husband’s little not-so-innocent maidens. She also made sure that she wouldn’t get in trouble for this later, either. And, after talking to one of her own maiden, they went off for what Hera thought was a well-deserved day. They headed off into the mortal world, careful to dress like the mortals to not draw any attention to themselves. They went around shopping, buying anything Hera wanted. At the end of the day, she knew she was going to end up getting the little maiden, Anya, a reward for coming with her, but that was only going to happen if the day continued to go her way.
Anya was already carrying four of her bags, each with a very beautiful dress. Hera was no fool. She knew she would never wear any of those dresses. She preferred to have Athena spin her one instead of coming down from Olympus to buy one like Aphrodite might. Mortal dresses were nothing for someone as great as the Supreme Goddess. Besides, if she did wear one of those lowly dresses, she’d be no better than the woman Zeus fooled around with, and, those women, she refused to be. She did not ever cheat on her husband, did not ever commit the slightest adultury, which was more than what he could say.
“Oh great Goddess, Hera. May we take a break?” Anya asked.
Hera paused in her stride, and turned to stare at the young girl. She had chosen her to come because she had been the most loyal, and she was one of the only ones who never feel victim to the eyes of Zeus. If the young girl was tired, she’d bite back a hard remark and agree. The two of them headed towards the closest bench by them. Hera indicated the girl would sit on the nasty seat. The girl did so willingly, setting down Hera’s dresses next to her, watching them in case someone dare steal them. Hera, meanwhile, remained standing. She could have easily sat down on the bench, or made Anya fetch her one more suiting, but that would put her in an off mood, something she was not eager to have.
“My dear, you are hungry and tired. Why not venture out and get yourself something to quench your thirst and hunger? I shall remain here, watching over the bags until your return so that we may safely return to Mount Olympus.” She proceeded to say in a commanding voice. The girl stood up, bowed, and continued to bow until she was out of sight. Hera, meanwhile, continued to stand there, tapping her fingers against her arm. Suddenly, she heard footstep approach her, but they were not Anya’s quiet, respecting, ones, but, rather, a heavier familiar one. She stayed facing the bags until she was greeted. Surprised at having heard Poseidon’s voice, she whirled around.
“Is that how you greet a queen, brother? No wonder your wife is not pleased with you.”

The woman turned her curly haired head toward Poseidon and looked him up and down before saying Is that how you greet a queen, brother? No wonder you wife is not pleased with you. That had stung Poseidon, his own sister and queen insulting him on how to handle his wife....Then again, she was the goddess of Marriage...But no difference, Poseidon made a fine husband and he would let her know that.
"Ahh..But, my dear sister and queen you do not live down in the depths of the ocean with my wife, children, and I. I hardly ever have affairs with mortals...What's more, she is a kind and patient queen. Sometimes, I believe she could teach some others a few things or two." Poseidon smiled his big fake smile and cocked his head to the side, he loved to tease the other gods, even if they were technically his superiors. Then again, he was one of the 'Big three', and he hoped Hera caught his inferance that she could learn something about marriage from his wife. Yes, this would anger the goddess, but hopefully not enough to complain to Zeus, or try to mess with his children. If she did anything to his family, his family would fight right back at her. The seas nor rivers nor its inhabitants would be kind to her.
When Poseidon glanced back up after looking at the floor for a moments time, a young girl had appeared beside Hera and Poseidon. The only thing was, she seemed to practically cling to Hera, yet not quite touching her. Interesting. Was this girl one of Hera's little maidens that did all her work for her? No matter, Poseidon would make her go.
"Go girl, I know not if you work for my associate here or if your simply gazing at her adorning looks, but we are in a private conversation. So..." Poseidon pulled a few mortal dollar bills from his pocket and handed to them to her, which she uneasingly took "Go find yourself to buy." Poseidon had said associate only due to the fact that he was unsure whether this girl was a mortal or an immortal. He didn't want any mortals finding out about their true identity on his account.
"Now, Hera, shall we walk?"

She scowled, crossing her arms in front of her. Was he suggesting that she, the Goddess of Marriage, needed to take lessons from his wife? She glowered, but figured that this place, at this time, was not a good one to start a fight. Especially when it had started out as such a good day. She wondered why she had started off like that. It usually took some different wording to set her off. She let it fall from her mind, deciding that it was probably just the way he had approached her. Still, she would have apologized for what she had said, had he not retorted. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you looked at it, he had retorted, and not to her liking. Her eyes flashed and she clenched her teeth and her fists together, seething.
"Don't "dear sister and queen" me, Poseidon. I consider myself lucky I do not live in your murky oceans with you and your children, which I helped bring into this world without a problem." She gave him a look. "If she is a "kind and patient queen" as you say, that is only because she was not forced into her marriage." She snapped. "And, if I come off rude, jealous, and angry, it's because I am. Regardless, wipe that ridiculous fake smile off your face." She took in a deep breath, calming herself down. She gave him a wry smile, an angry one, before continuing. "None the less, I should not have greeted you like that, brother. I should have been more graceful. Treated you with more dignity. You did not deserve to have greeted like that, and I apologize. Still, you owe me an apology. You should not have greeted me, either. Nor should you have shown me that disgrace." She smirked at him, and inclined her head slightly. She had done the unpredictable, here. She had apologized. She had never really apologized to anyone before, not even when she led a revolt against Zeus. She had simply sat back.
She raised an eyebrow whenever Anya came back and Poseidon have her a look over. She smiled, kindly, at the younger girl before putting an arm on her shoulder. When Poseidon addressed Anya, she had to hide a laugh by biting her tongue. Hera allowed him to go on, telling Anya to go off somewhere. But, she couldn't resist laughing when he pulled out some mortal money. Anya looked up at her with a petrified look on her face. "Worry not, Anya, dear. You may take the money if it pleases you. Buy something if you wish, but I ask that you drop these bags off." She smiled at the girl before turning to Poseidon. "I don't see why we can't."

He was being told off. That was Poseidon's first reaction when Hera responded to his comment about her needing lessons on marriage from his wife. She was not happy, as the children these days would say, she was pissed off. She went on about how Poseidon should never 'dear sister and queen' her, or how he should have greeted her in a more kind manner. To Poseidon, this was all just 'Blah, blah, blah', but, Poseidon didn't like other gods to have grudges against him, Olympian or not.
When Hera apologized, that practically made Poseidon's eyes bulge out at the thought of it. Then again, just because she was married to Zeus, didn't mean she was exactly like him. Next thing you know, Hera would be telling Poseidon to apologize. She did. What a coincidence.
Poseidon didn't know what to do, then again, who did? Many gods weren't used to apologizing for their mistakes, especially not those in his family. But, like everyone expected them to do, the gods had to change their ways.
Sucking it all up, Poseidon began to think of ways he could possibly say he was 'sorry'. Truthfully he was, especially now that Hera had admitted that she too was rude, and had apologized. If Hera could do it, so could the Lord of the Sea....Couldn't he? It wasn't that hard was it? Then again, Poseidon hadn't apologized sinse the time he had let one of his children down by not being able to protect them, and they died. Then, Poseidon apologized, and before then, it was hazy.
"Hera...I'm...I'm sorry. I apologize for my rudeness, if I have angered you, which I most certainly have, I apologize for that as well. It was in no way my plan to insult and offend somebody today. So...If we're all good here, let's get on our way."
Poseidon took hold of Hera's hand began walking. "So, Hera, may I ask what you are shopping here in a mortal mall for? There're plenty of malls on Olympus, and I know you not to be someone to wear mortal clothing....Why, I bet you'd rather have Athena herself weave you a dress."

She smirked. She had gotten her way, whether he had realized it or not. She had made him apologize. Now, if only that little trick would work on Zeus, but, with that man, it was impossible for her to be able to do anything. “If you must know, Poseidon, I grow more and more annoyed at the prospect of being stuck on Olympus doing all the work our brother should be doing. Although I could always leave and go do some shopping, I prefer to come down here. To get away from it all. The constant nagging gets annoying.” She ran her fingers through her blond hair.
The point was, although she wouldn’t admit it, that Poseidon was right. His marriage was working out a lot better than hers was, and he was a better husband that Zeus was. But, that didn’t mean he was the ideal one, either. No, he wasn’t the worst, and far from the best. He did cheat on his wife and have kids with mortals, although not nearly as much as some of the other Gods. And, it was always her that tried to make sure they all worked out without a hitch. But, again, he was right, and she was angry about that, too. It wasn’t fair. How could he have the better life when she was suffering?
Still, she shook her head and tried to get it out of her mind. Especially when Poseidon commented about Athena making her a dress. With that comment said, she laughed. A soft ringing sound that seemed to grow louder the longer she laughed. “To tell you the truth, that’s what I was thinking before I arrived here with Anya. I’ll probably just give those dresses to my maidens and be done with it.” What she wanted to know was why Poseidon was down here. She was here to get away from all the annoyance that came with the pressure in Olympus, but what about him? “What about you, Poseidon? Why’re you down here? Aside from the water park, obviously, but is that it?” She asked, tilting her head slightly.

So the goddess liked to get away from her kingdom, husband, maidens, and all those other nagging immortals. Poseidon could understand that. Heck, his own kingdom got a little bit of a nusiance now and again. Delphin, his leuitenit was constantly bugging him about some problem that needed fixing, and his son Triton sometimes blew too loud on that Conch Shell of his. But his wife, Poseidon loved his wife. Sure, she could talk a lot sometimes, but she was fun to be around, and she made an excellent queen of the ocean.
Poseidon and Hera had come to an excelator, the only thing was, Poseidon didn't feel like going down a floor, the waterpark was on this level of the mall, and if he went down a floor, he might actually have to try to hear the rush of water. Poseidon liked the sound of running water, but he didn't like to have to try and hear it.
Poseidon stopped, knowing Hera too would, as he had a feeling that she wouldn't just want to go walk off in the middle of their conversation, and he was right. Hera asked him about exactly he was down here. Why, Poseidon was here for the waterpark of course...Or was he? Then Hera added 'besides the waterpark'. This brought Poseidon to a point where he was temperaroly answerless. Poseidon had no responce, as he truly did not know why he was here. This brought him back to his first debate with himself. Pretty women? Mortal watching up close? Or the mall itself? No...it was none of those reasons. There was something more specific about this place. Then Poseidon knew. There wasn't something about this place. It was someone. Yes, it was in a way about pretty women, but in this case, one in particular. His daughter. No, he didn't have a crush on his daughter, but what parent didn't think their children were adorable? This child of his was a demi-god. The only thing was, was the fact that she was unaware of her history, her past. Then again, perhaps that was for the best.
"Hera, I finally have my answer, however, it does have something to do with the waterpark, only, it's the fact that someone very close to me is in there....My daughter. I thought I reconized her in that hot - tub. I had thought it was an immortal, but no, only part god. But complete clarity." Poseidon stared off for a moment, and knew that this was the reason he didn't want to leave this floor level, not the sound of water, but the sense of his daughter.

Regardless of the fact that he was not here to pick up on another mortal skank, those were not the words Hera wanted to hear. Out of the ten chances, before she left in a huge huff, she was going to give Poseidon, he had already cut it down to seven. First off, the way they had greeted each other had not gone off well, obviously, and so that had cut him down one. All the best shops in the mall were on the floor below, and he had suddenly stopped right as they were about to go down. She let that go without questioning it, although she did give the excelator a longing look.
She had caught the familiar red-headed curls she knew belonged to Anya. She felt...rude pushing the girl off like that just because she had ran into Poseidon. Especially since she had been the one to invite the girl to come along with her. Hera thought of Anya to be almost like a child to her. She was young-looking, seeming to be around twelve to thirteen years old, and she simply adored being around the older Goddess. She only wished Eris would be like that. But, no, her godly daughter seemed perfectly content never coming in contact with her mother unless it was to ask her to get her, Eris, out of some sort of troublt, almost too much like her brother, Ares. What's more, Poseidon didn't want to go because his daughter was somewhere on this floor, at least, that's what she figured.
"Brother, you're talking to me, me, of all people about your illegitimate daughter? As the mortals would say, seriously?” She scoffed and pulled herself away from him, taking two steps back towards the waterpark. Of course that would be why he was attracted here. It wasn’t fair. He had a daughter to worry over because she needed him, so to say. He was capable of going off off and having other children, even thought they would be illegitimate, with the mortals. She’d probably be a heroine of some sorts. But, no. She couldn’t do that. The might Hera was powerless to even think of going off with some mortal so that she could produce some child of her own. Had someone gotten close enough to her to see that that was why she was bitter about Zeus leaving all the time, they might have thought better of her.
But, no one was close to her. She chose that, in a way. She was never kind, never polite, barely civil. She never let anyone in on why she was always the vicious queen. Although he hadn’t clearly said it, she knew Poseidon thought along the same lines of everyone else. Even his own queen was more civilized than she was! “Oh. Why would you tell me that, Poseidon? Knowing how I feel about Zeus going off and having children with these...beings. You would dare stand there and tell me you’re a good husband and then tell me that the reason you’re here is because of your child? A child you did not have with you’re wife?” She shook her head and gave him a look of disdain. “You’re no better than Zeus.”

When Poseidon had finished speaking, he realized what he had said and done. Poseidon had mentioned his daughter that was the offspring of a mortal that wasn't his wife to Hera of ALL people. She was the goddess of marriage, and he had mentioned his child to her. He'd be lucky if she didn't choose to attempt a murder upon his child. Then again, if she did, she'd feel his wrath at it's full might.
Hera took a few steps backward - Toward the waterpark. This worried Poseidon, it made him believe she was attempting to get closer to his daughter. That wouldn't happen. As Hera stepped back, Poseidon stepped back with her, blocking her view of the waterpark.
Poseidon didn't know why he cared so much for this particular child of his, she wasn't immortal, she wasn't in any prophecies that Poseidon was aware of, and she was just a typical unaware demi-god. But it didn't matter, she had power, beauty, and a love to swim. Not all of his children were as powerful as her, or had her good looks. Heck, Poseidon had had some ugly children over the years. He even thought one of his immortal children that he had with Amphitrite was ugly - Although, he wouldn't say which one outloud.
Then the hit and home run came. Hera had asked Poseidon why he would tell her of all people of his demi-god child, the goddess of marriage. She was angered that Poseidon had sex with some mortal skank, and had a child as a result. But the worst part was, was when she compared him to her husband Zeus. 'Your no better than Zeus!'. That stung, and it burnt.
She had another fight for Poseidon? Poseidon could bring it back, if this became a familial feud, then so it be. "Oh, Hera, insolant Hera. You believe you are any better than Zeus or I? Being the goddess of Marriage, shouldn't be a bit more tolerant, and patient with Zeus? Hmm? You'd have more respect for him, and you'd try to help him through this no matter what you've been through. Heck, you may even want a counsler." Poseidon knew he had gone too far, but the words were out, and there was nothing he could do about it. He had a feeling he hit Hera where it would hurt. Nobody insulted him and his family, immortal or mortal. Poseidon simply wouldn't stand for it.
